Rudy's Wine Pick
“A little sip of paradise”
L’Ecole no. 41
“Walla Voila”, Chenin Blanc
2008 – Columbia Valley, Washington
I have fallen in love with this luscious mouth watering white wine. Chenin Blanc sometimes has a bad reputation as being too sweet but that’s only the junky stuff. This wine has only the slightest hint of sweetness and is well balanced with stone fruit and floral flavors and has the most incredible mouth feel. Try it, I guarantee you’ll like it or I’ll buy it back.
"Walla Voila" is L’ecole’s old vine, Vouvray style Chenin Blanc. Jean Ferguson, L'Ecole Nº 41's founding winemaker, loved this wine and crafted her version of Vouvray through cold fermentation to enhance the fruity and floral esters of this delicious variety. Pronounced with a French accent as "Walla Woila" or "here it is!!” this regional whimsical pun captures the lively and vibrant flavors of this grape.
Another “Super Value” at only $13.99 per bottle
and a solid Rudy Rating of “90”.

Lapsang Souchong Full Leaf Tea by Republic of Tea
As a Steak Rub! Jessica Says: “I like the Lapsang Souchong tea for a great steak rub added to a little rosemary & crushed green peppercorns with roasted garlic flakes, when cooked to perfection top with a little Smokey Blue cheese and butter.” YUM! For Sipping: The entrancing, smokey character of this tea is achieved by an elaborate process. The hand-picked leaves are smoked over pinewood embers, for a distinct and mysterious cup.
